1. Where do the dates come from?

There are thousands of sources involved in creating this book and months of work. Dates come from news stories, US and other nation's governments, various non-profits, NGOs, professional organizations, customs and particularly for the silly holidays, the Internet. We also have people email in events which we check out and verify.

2. Is the LEEP Calendar availabe as an APP?

Not yet but we expect the app to roll out sometime in late Q2 2012.

3. How do I use this information?

We've created four pages on this site outlining the most common uses for this calendar by the most common users. Simply click through to see ideas: Bloggers & Journalists, Executives & Educators, Media Sales & Promotions or Marketing & Public Relations.

4. What formats is the LEEP available in?

Digital formats include Kindle, Sony, Nook, iBooks (epub or PDF), Palm, Rich Text and PDF.

It's also available in a 214 page 8 X 10 paperback through this site and most major book retailers.

The wall calendar is currently available in a downloadable PDF that can be printed out as an 8.5 X 11, 11 X 17 or flip chart size 21 X 32 in black and white or in color.

5. Why is it called 'The LEEP'?

LEEP is an acronym for Lewis' Event, Editorial Promotional. It's a lot easier to say (and remember) than the official name: Laura Dawn Lewis' Event, Editorial & Promotional Calendar.

6. How do I return my LEEP if I don't like it?

We offer a 60-day money back guarantee on purchases made through this site. To return your LEEP for a refund of the purchase price:

Mail your paperback version and receipt to: LEEP Calendar Returns 4320 S. Centinela Ave. Suite 202, Los Angeles, CA. 90066

Digital:

Email your digital version and receipt to: public at pr planning calendar dot com

7. How do I submit an event for consideration in the next LEEP Calendar?

The more information you can supply, the more likely your event will be included. We need the following information on each event to include it:

  • Title
  • Organization behind the event
  • Brief description (1-2 sentences)
  • Categories the event falls under: Health, Children, Music etc...
  • Official Website for the Event
  • Contact information about the event: (Phone, email, address, name)
  • When it occurs (e.g.: Second Tuesday of each May each year)
  • Year it was established.
  • Country it's celebrated (use 'International' if a global event).

You can choose to email, mail or phone this information in to us. See our contact page for numbers.

8) How do I notify you if I find an error in the book?

Errors do happen and dates do move. Please contact us immediately so we can let our readers know of any changes.

9) Is the LEEP available in other languages?

Not yet but we hope to have multiple versions in the years ahead.

10) Where did the idea for the LEEP come from?

I was working on our editorial calendar for Couples Company and was spending hours and hours trying to find appropriate dates. I started keeping them in a spread sheet and within a few months realized I might as well do them as a book so they'd be handy. What I thought would be a 4 week project took 10 months and thousands of hours so the LEEP was born. Though there are free online sources with some of this information, I still spent a lot of time verifying and cross-referencing and found various sites were often in conflict with each other on many of the dates. Figuring out which site was accurate and which was not, there was no consistent source. When I realized that there wasn't a cost effective and affordable source of these dates available that was authoratative and regularly researched, I expanded the research and parameters and decided to create the full product suite.

11) What if I don't have my receipt for the LEEP when I register for the Wall Calendar download?

You wouldn't be the first:) Contact us and we'll work through it with you.

12) I can't open the PDF. What do I do?

You probably have an old version of Adobe Acrobat. You can download the latest version of the software for free by clicking here. If updating your software doesn't fix the problem, Contact us and we'll work through it with you.

13) What is the best version of the LEEP for me?

The paperback is the easiest to use because you can write in it, photocopy pages and carry it around with you easily and gift it easily. You also recieve the PDF version of the book with your paperback purchase for your computer or tablet which looks very similar and can be searched through Acrobat's search function. This can be printed out, but it is watermarked and in low resolution to prevent piracy. The calendar has also been formatted for each of the e-readers however due to the size limitation on the graphics and files which don't translate as well as we'd like, we're also providing the PDF version for you to print and mark-up as needed.

14) Do you offer bulk discounts?

We have 17 people on our sales staff and I'd like to get each a copy of the LEEP.

YES we do. If you want to order 5 or more copies of the paperback (which includes a digital copy in your choice of reader & the wall calendar), simply Contact us and we'll provide you with the code and wholesale price to order directly. Let's say 5 on your sales staff have iPads, a few Kindles and yet others Droids. You'd recieve the paperback copy for each as well as the digital version designed for each team members unique mobile device. That works out to 17-paperbacks, 17-wall calendars and 17-digital LEEPS for just over $225 (+s/h and tax if applicable). Not only will you save your team hours of research, but they're sure to find multiple opportunities to bring in new accounts and create new sources of revenue with the LEEP. It will pay for itself within minutes.

15) Can the LEEP be customized for our market?

YES, YES, YES! The LEEP Calendar can be customized to your organization, events specific to it added, regionalized and published under your brand and then provided to your members free, as a gift for clients or as a fundraising tool through our licensing program. Category Exclusivity and First Right of Refusal available upon licensing. We use print on demand, which eliminates the high cost of pre-purchase, inventory and stocking making this a very affordable, turn-key and profitable resource for trade organizations, media and educational institutions. Typical turn around is 3-6 weeks depending upon the level of customization you need. Contact us for details.
